Number Check (12 items)

The 12-item Number Check is a tool that teachers can use to gauge whether students are developing the number and counting knowledge expected at the end of Year 1. It includes questions focused on numeral identification, number sequences, subitising, counting, addition and subtraction. 

Prepare by familarising yourself with the Check and support materials, and gather the equipment you need to run the Check. Conduct the Check one-on-one with students, analyse students' responses and plan follow-up learning.
