Quantifying number (Years 7 and 8)
On this page there are links to papers on four interconnected concepts of number:
- place value and rounding
- properties of number
- ordering and comparing
- simplifying and manipulating expressions, equations and formulae.
Each provides details of the knowledge students should have and some of the misconceptions they may hold. Examples illustrate what these misconceptions may look like and how to address them. The papers will support teachers' in developing pedagogical and content knowledge.
