Martin Holt, educational consultant and academic in Maths education at the Australian Catholic University, and Allan Dougan from the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) present the various assessment strategies that are effective within the explicit-teaching model and highlight how assessment still has an important role to play within the explicit teaching model that can be used to enhance teaching skills in Australian mathematics classrooms.
