'First Nations Australian navigation & mapping in the Australian curriculum: Mathematics for 7-10 educators.
This webinar supports educators to showcase the deep time histories, cultures, & knowledges of First Nations Australians, specifically focusing on navigation & mapping. Through this rich context, teachers can engage with maths, offering students valuable learning experiences that align with the key concept of Country/Place in the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Histories & Cultures cross-curriculum priority in the Australian Curriculum: Maths. Traditional knowledges & practices will be showcased & intersected with contemporary practices & technologies, bringing together the incredible cultural knowledges & understandings of First Nations peoples with western science.
